As Harare and Mutare, accepted their new mayors, the MDC-T Councilors in Mutare who rebelled against Morgan Tsvangirai by installing a ZANU PF deputy mayor were hauled before a disciplinary tribunal on Wednesday morning.

While a statement was awaited at the time of writing, ZimEye can reveal that a disciplinary committee was convened this afternoon in Mutare. But there was drama when MDC-T youths began shouting, charging, baying for the blood of four councillors who voted for a ZANU PF deputy mayor.
At the time of writing, police officers had arrived in Santana trucks at the site where MDC-T supporters were.
Thomas Nyamupanedengu(pictured) was installed by Morgan Tsvangirai to be mayor of Mutare but later on Nikuved by the four MDC-T councillors working with Robert Mugabe’s ZANU PF party.
The four rebel councilors are Richard Mupfura ward 16, Tatenda Nhambarare ward 8, Farai Bhiza ward 11 and Pamella Mutare ward 2. The fate of the 4 rebel councillors is being debated today at a provincial executive meeting.
A statement from the party is expected anytime soon.
