MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, says he has the means to repay the loan he got from the government for the Highlands mansion but will not pay yet as there are conditions that need to be met.
Tsvangirai, has been dragged into a controversial $1.35 billion Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe debt after a Zanu-PF member of parliament last week claimed that the acquisition of the former prime ministers plush villa, which is located in Harare’s leafy Highlands suburb, helped increase the debt the government is now trying to force ordinary Zimbabweans to pay.
Tsvangirai has also vowed to continue pressing the ruling Zanu-PF government to institute democratic reforms ahead of the 2018 presidential election. He talks to Studio 7 VOA in an interview, audio:

  1. SADC heads also accused MDC leaders of “enjoying themselves and forgetting why they were in the GNU”.
Western donors too have given up on MDC leaders because they have proven beyond all doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent and they will never deliver an democratic change.
You have never understood what the reforms were and even now, with benefit of hindsight, you still do not have a clue; that is why you still follow these MDC leaders.
Zimbabwe is in this mess because we have more than our fair share of men and women whose minds are impermeable to logic and reason. You are just one of them.

  3. Despite your issues with Wilbert, still it’s true that Chematama & company went to sleep when they were in the GNU, enjoying wine, women & song and only woke up when they lost to ZPF by such a shattering marginin the 2013 polls. facts are stubborn…

  5. Wilbert, you risk being reduced to a simpleton like Whande – so fixated on individuals yet ignoring the complex situation on the ground. I follow your writings and I’m afraid you too are a corrupt and incompetent useless person masquerading as a political analysis when your job is that of one Chihwayi bent on doing the CIO job of finishing off opposition fight against evil. Look into yourself and ask yourself what you have done over the years other than criticizing those who are trying to fight the establishment.
You cry hard loud about GNU as if you were its inventor. What do you know about GNU that those in it failed to know better?

  9. Tsvangirai had the chance to implement the democratic reforms during the GNU but failed to get even one reform implemented but now he is saying the are necessary. He has no idea how they are to be implemented, he is only saying so now to remain relevant.
The researcher at Cato said the WEST has abandoned MDC, Ruhwanya’s report Tsvangirai is talking about which said MDC-T is still popular was referring to local Zimbabweans. The failure by Zimbabweans to see Tsvangirai for the corrupt and incompetent leader he is now one of the biggest huddles to democratic change.
