A HARARE man, Action Nyamayaro, yesterday stunned the magistrates’ court when he revealed his former wife, Pamela Makichi, would demand to have sexual intercourse with him despite the presence of his son with whom they were sharing a single room.
Nyamayaro told Harare magistrate Trevor Nyatsanza that Makichi would sometimes get possessed to the extent of demanding to have sexual intercourse with him throughout the night, blaming evil spirits for her actions.
He told the court that Makichi resorted to physical and verbal abuse after realising he had refused to marry her.
“We dated from May to June this year, but I endured a series of physical attacks from her. She pulled my private parts, scolded and destroyed my property after I had refused to accede to her demands to marry her,” Nyamayaro claimed. “The funny thing is that her violence would only start to change after midnight, usually between 2am to 3am when she would demand for continuous sex until morning. When I confronted her about it, she said it was an evil spirit.”
He said at some point, Makichi threatened one of them would die and she even attempted to commit suicide by drinking poison.
“She wrote a message in her phone before taking poison which I recovered when I found her unconscious. I had to call my sister to help me resuscitate her by causing her to drink a lot of water,” Nyamayaro said.
He said Makichi had tried desperately to cause him to impregnate her to the extent that at one point, he tore a condom while they were having sexual intercourse and as a result, they had unprotected sex twice.
The magistrate ruled in Nyamayaro’s favour and ordered Makichi to vacate his premises within a week.
