Man loses leg in near-fatal accident at Timsite Enterprises.
As anarchy, chaos and looting of gold at the illegal Chinese owned Timsite gold mill in Bindura continue, there was a near fatal accident as gold panners were caught in a stampede competing against each other. One known illegal gold dealer is lucky to be alive though seriously injured when he was run over by a 10 tonne round mill-wheel while panning for gold in the Mill.
Miraclously only one of his legs was crushed.
The man was whisked away to a private hospital in an attempt to evade NSSA and the local Mines Inspector, ZimEye.com can reveal.
Timsite has one of the worst safety records in the country. Earlier in the year a customer was crushed to death in one of the mills.
Timsite is one of the 11 companies closed down by government for non compliance with government requirements.
However the company receiving support from named politicians and senior government officials defied the order and has been operating illegally. Gold panning and externalisation has reached unprecendented levels with the commissioning of the Cyanidation Plant.
It has been found that government is being prejudiced of millions of dollars.
