Chinese businessmen in Mashonaland Central have been caught red handed, usijg a highly sophisticated method of stealing gold from black miners, ZANU PF offices here have been told.

This concern was raised by thousands of small scale miners based at Kitsiyatota in Bindura during a meeting called by the re-instated Provincial Chairman Dick Mafios. The miners in unison told the Chairman that instead of promoting indigenisation and empowerment, the millers were stealing their produce – gold.
 
One Chinese firm, (name supplied) was accused of having machines which ‘rob’ the miners of their gold. The design of the milling plant at Timsite is such that 25% of the free gold especially fine gold is lost to the dump thereby prejudicing the miners. The ‘lost’ gold is then processed and recovered by Timsite at the newly commissioned CIP Plant and is never accounted for but sold on the black market or packaged for China.
 
It has been submitted by sources that the Chinese businessmen at Timsite installed a copper plate on the Ballmill discharge end for purposes of rcovering the free gold ‘stolen’ from the miners. Surprisingly, the recovered gold about 1.5kgs a day, is not recorded into the company books.
 
The ZANU PF Chairman was also told of the ill-treatment miners receive from the millers and how they pay bribes in-order to be served. The no nonsense chairman promised to deal with named and shamed politicians who were abusing their offices to get shares from the Chinese miners.
