The Cup is to attract a historic more than 60,000 people set to satiate Zimbabwe’s largest meeting space the National Sports Stadium on Sunday the 30th November.
This move comes well in timing with the upcoming ZANU PF congress that could turn Mnangagwa into Robert Mugabe’s successor. At the politburo he was identified as the only other Presidential contender apart from Vice President Joice Mujuru.
The value of the cup was not disclosed at the time of writing.
The man behind the organising of this treat, Mr Emmanuel Sunduza told ZimEye in an exclusive interview all plans are now set for the 30th.
“It is on and we will be in the National Sports of Stadium,” he said.
Meanwhile Mnangagwa’s rival Joice Mujuru has had a barrage of character attacks in the Mnangagwa controlled State Media, continued. Every day since last week, has seen article piled upon article as “every dot of ink” was used to bludgeon Mujuru’s public image before the upcoming congress slated for the first week of December, the last chance for any successor to position themselves for taking from Mugabe.

  7. The precedence is there. Zimbabweans have always endured long waits past Mugabe’s speeches in order to watch these soccer matches between popular Zimbabwe teams at the National Sports stadium. Zimbabweans have always taken the bait and let their presence be used for propaganda purposes, even though they despise Mugabe’s hate-filled speeches. It’s like trapping fish with a worm on a hook.
