As the Zimbabwe under 19 rugby team battles for the single spot available for an African country in the world championships in Tunisia, the women senior side will be traveling to Botswana this weekend for a preparatory tie for the world cup qualifiers set for Uganda next month.
Zimbabwe rugby union president Bruce Hobson says the women’s side has improved significantly and should be able to make it through to the world cup although the road might prove a bit steep.
“Women’s rugby is still in its developmental stages so we hoping they do qualify. But they have been doing well in the past,” said Hobson.
“They will play Botswana who are equally good s and that should prepare them well before the Uganda trip,” he said.
Meanwhile the Under 19’s currently in Tunisia were today scheduled to play the Ivory coast, then Kenya on Saturday and the hosts Tunisia next week Wednesday
