Bulawayo - Anything can happen in troubled Zimbabwe. Well it did happen Simba Makoni, Dumiso Dabengwa and Pathisa Nyati met with the man who has often labelled them as Western puppets, War Vetererans leader Jabulani Sibanda at Bulawayo's Rainbow Hotel.
The purpose of the meeting according to a source within the Mavambo camp was to consider Jabulani Sibanda's application to join Makoni's camp, some thing that could happen before the runoff.
According to the same source Sibanda will soon call a press conference to denounce violence being perpetrated on rural people by war veterans and other ruling party militias.
Dabengwa is said to have convinced the war veterans chief that no matter how much the ex-combatants used force, Mugabe is a difficult candidate to help elect. Sibanda is seeking immunity from prosecution through the Mavambo faction which could be a partner in the government of national unity that many see as the only way out of this crisis gripping Zimbabwe. Meanwhile in a related development war veterans vice chairperson Joseph Chinotimba denounced his boss at a rally in Mutare's Sakubva stadium.the colorful Chinotimba said war vets should be on the look out for sellouts everywere including from their own movement regardless of who the culprits are in the organisation's hierachy. He then said
‘Our big brother from Bulawayo has joined the ranks of British puppies barking for their supper before leaving the stage with the new war veterans slogan of rovai vanhu - vanhu nga varohwe!
